Huntington Booster Club Golf Outing Tees up on Oct. 14
The planning is complete and all that’s left now is the fun as the Huntington Booster Club’s annual golf outing will tee-up on Wednesday, October 14 at Crab Meadow Golf Course. The affair will honor longtime Blue Devil coach and physical education teacher Stephen Henry. Registration is ongoing for the event, which includes a festive evening dinner in the course clubhouse.
Mr. Henry is in his fourth decade at the school. He has coached football, baseball and softball teams and is popular with students, his fellow teachers and alumni. He is also the physical education department’s coordinator and even films varsity and JV football games for instructional purposes. He’s also a member of the Town of Huntington’s Softball Hall-of-Fame.
The golf outing will begin with check-in, lunch and practice on the driving range from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., when a shotgun start will kick-off the action. A dinner is slated for 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse. The fee for individual golfers is $200 (Foursome - $800). Blue Devil supporters wishing to attend the dinner only can do so for $100.
A variety of special prizes and awards will be presented, including longest drive, nearest to the pin and hole-in-one. Proceeds from the day will go toward the Booster Club’s efforts to provide annual scholarships, purchase equipment, support summer camps and a number of related programs.
Numerous golf outing sponsorship opportunities exist ranging from the $3,500 Varsity Dinner sponsor package to $125 tee and green sponsors. Commemorative journal ads are also being sold.
