“A Toast in Tuscany” to Benefit Jefferson School

The owners of Restaurant Joanina will host “A Toast in Tuscany” on Weds. Dec. 9 and donate a generous portions of the proceeds to their alma mater, Jefferson Primary School for use in purchasing high-tech educational equipment for classrooms.

Located at 35A Gerard Street in the heart of Huntington village, Restaurant Joanina is operated by the Oliva family, which has deep roots in the community, and as alumni, an affinity for the Huntington School District. To help celebrate the launch of the restaurant, which is located at the site of the former Renaissance Gourmet Deli, the Oliva’s have planned a very special evening that promises to be one of the holiday season’s most memorable events.

There will be authentic Italian food, wine tasting, cocktails, live music and food raffles. Tickets are now on sale for $60 (advance purchase available through Dec. 7. Tickets at the door are $70.)

The restaurant’s “Tuscan farmhouse” dining room is expected to be filled with local folks who enjoy fine, fresh food cooked to perfection. The Oliva’s have a long tradition of “giving back” to the community and chose Jefferson School because of their personal connection to that building.

Rexer-Parkes, a fine women’s specialty store located next door to Restaurant Joanina, is also pitching in to help. Customers presenting a ticket to “A Toast in Tuscany” will receive 15 percent off all purchases at Rexer-Parkes from Dec. 9-13. The company will also donate a portion of all sales to Jefferson School.

Visit www.RestaurantJoanina.com for tickets or stop by the restaurant to purchase tickets in person. For more information call the restaurant at 549-2727.
