Blue Devil Sports News

The Huntington boys’ soccer team topped Eastport-South Manor in overtime, 2-1 when Anthony Catarino scored off a free kick by Petros Kalodukas two minutes into the extra frame off. It was Catarino’s second goal of the game. He tied the score at 1-1 with about ten minutes remaining in regulation on a shot off an assist by Christian Caballero. E.J. Connell made five magnificent saves in goal for the Blue Devils, who turned up their defense by several notches.

Earlier in the day the team’s seniors were recognized over the school’s public address system during the morning announcements. “All Huntington High School soccer parents” send a “big thank you” to Jesse Michaels, Greg Myers, Petros Kalodukas, Sal Russo and Chris Sandoval. “Thank you for all your years of hard work and team spirit,” the parents said in their shout-out. “We will miss you next year!”
