Huntington’s Class of 1959 Plans 50th Reunion

Huntington High School’s Class of 1959 is planning a 50th reunion for October 16-18.  An organizing committee is trying to locate members of the class, the first to graduate from the current building located at the intersection of Oakwood and McKay Roads.  The event will coincide with the high school’s homecoming festivities, which will be held that same weekend.

The Class of 1959 reunion will kick-off with a Friday night (Oct. 16) “icebreaker” at the Huntington Yacht Club and continue Saturday afternoon (Oct. 17) at the Huntington High School football game.  At halftime of the contest, the 1958 Suffolk County championship basketball team will be recognized.  A lavish dinner dance will be held Saturday night at the Huntington Crescent Club.  A farewell brunch is planned for Sunday (Oct. 18) at the Head of the Bay Club in Huntington.

For more information or to register for the reunion or to volunteer to help organize the weekend, contact Class of 1959 members Jerry Asher (washer@courts.state.ny.us) or Pat Taylor-Santelli (pats@optonline.net).  A special reunion website has been created at www.huntingtonhigh59.com.
