SEPTA Seeks Volunteers

The Huntington School District’s Special Education PTA has put out a call for building representatives who can attend individual school PTA meetings and speak on behalf of SEPTA about upcoming meetings and events and also be responsible for copying and distributing flyers for students to carry home to their parents.

SEPTA is a district-wide PTA that focuses on children that participated in Huntington’s special education program or who receive special related support services.  “SEPTA recognizes that students have a broad range of learning styles and abilities, and we aim to promote quality learning experiences for all children,” according to a flyer distributed by the group.

For more information or to volunteer as a building representative, contact Kim Scappaticci at 223-6825 or Julie Porzio at 470-3575.

SEPTA is also looking for volunteers to participate on a fundraising committee for its “4th Annual Fundraiser” on Friday, May 15 at the Head of the Bay Club.  Parents are welcome to share their expertise, thoughts whatever assistance they can provide to make the event a success.  The first meeting of the committee will be held on Friday, February 6 at 10 a.m.

Please contact Nancy Levine at 547-0140 or Madeline London at 427-2869 for more information or for the meeting place location.
