School Board to Host Academic Presentations
A request by the Huntington School Board for verbal updates from district directors about academic programs and progress within their specific disciplines has resulted in the development of a schedule of public presentations that will begin Nov. 17 and continue through Feb. 9. The sessions will occur during a portion of regularly scheduled School Board meetings on each of the dates.
The presentation schedule includes:
- Nov. 17 - Joseph Leavy (director of humanities) and John Amato (principal of J. Taylor Finley Middle School)
- Dec. 8 - Carmela Leonardi (principal of Huntington High School) and Vicki Mingin (executive director of special education and student support services)
- Jan. 5 - Wayne Edwards (director of math) and Georiga McCarthy (director of physical education, health and athletics)
- Jan. 26 - Carmen Kasper (director of foreign language, ESL and bilingual programs) and Peter Paternostro (director of guidance)
- Feb. 9 - Joan Fretz (director of fine and performing arts) and David Casamento (director of science)
