Flower Hill School Honors Top Students

When the doors of Flower Hill Primary School swung open the first week of September, signaling the start of a new school year, teachers were greeted by more than 300 eager students, who quickly displayed their willingness to work hard.

The youngsters fell into their routines without much difficulty, reading, writing and learning new math skills, heading off to library, music, art and physical education classes and never failing to tell anyone willing to listen how much they love school.

“We have a great group of students and our faculty and staff is enjoying working with them each day,” Principal Marlon Small said. “The boys and girls are excited to be in school and they are very enthusiastic in their classrooms and around the school.”

Flower Hill has a tradition of presenting Student of the Month awards for exceptional efforts around the building. The names of the youngsters who are being recognized are read over the school’s public address system and staff members teachers and support staff goes out of their way to make them feel special on “their day.”

September’s honorees include Aaron Chin, Ava Adkins, Danielle Brite, Aiden Lefebvre, Zachary Gordon, Kyle Dunn, Douglas Kelapire, Karley Matthews, Natalie Ciccone, Stephanie Bermudez, Amanda Blitz, Kelly Warren, Theron Viljoen, Katie Stock, Megan Malone, Alexandra Lourenso, Grace Connell, Matthew Magerle, Sebastian Stamatatos, Olivia Quinn, Anna Adkins, Mia Idler, Josh Yanuck and Vivienne LaVertu.

Mr. Small presented each of the winners with a handsome certificate before they gathered as a group to take a commemorative photo that was later affixed to a special bulletin board in the school lobby. “They all enjoyed the recognition,” Mr. Small said.
