Finley Spring Sports Participation Sky High
J. Taylor Finley Middle School students are participating in large numbers on the eight spring athletic teams there. In all, 229 seventh and eighth graders are on team rosters, including 130 boys on five spring teams and another 99 girls on three teams.
With 44 members, the Finley girls’ track and field team is the largest of any, following by eighth grade boys’ lacrosse (42 players), girls’ lacrosse (35), seventh grade boys’ lacrosse (31), boys’ track and field (25), baseball (20), softball (20) and boys’ tennis (12).
Through the years, Finley teams and after school clubs have historically seen extremely high participation rates. Teachers and school administrators encourage students to dive into all of the extracurricular offerings and students do just that.
