Blue Devil Girls’ Lax Explodes for 17 Goals
Katherine Thompson scored five goals and fellow senior Casey Scully added four more to pace the Huntington girls’ lacrosse team to a nifty victory over Smithtown West, 17-10.
The Blue Devils took a 9-4 first half lead and kept up their fine play throughout the latter part of the game. Alexandra Kimchy put the ball in the net three times and Angela Bosco scored twice. Emma Hayes-Hurley, Michaela Brown and Allison Thompson also tallied goals.
The game marked one of Huntington’s best performances of the spring. Bosco, a talented sophomore and Scully, who is headed to Iona College, contributed three assists apiece, respectively. Sophomore Karly Kocis stopped 11 shots in goal.
Blue Devil Notes: Allison Thompson assisted on two goals and Julie Forster, Hannah Helstom and Katherine Thompson also notched assists . . . Huntington outscored Smithtown West in the second half, 8-6.
