Huntington School Board Notes
Huntington School Board members approved a change order concerning a contract covering a project to replace windows at Woodhull Intermediate School. The change reduced the value of the contract from $203,100 to $197,100. The $6,000 difference represents a credit for an unused work allowance.
Trustees adopted a resolution determining that the proposal to add classroom space at Woodhull Intermediate School is a Type II action under the State Environmental Quality Review Act and as such will “have no significant adverse impact” on the environment.
Trustees accepted a donation of $31,811.16 from the Huntington Foundation for Excellence in Education to fund a total of 11 grants reaching into six district schools. Throughout the year the Huntington Foundation contributes money to the district to fund grants as they are awarded.
Trustees accepted the resignation of speech therapist Michelle Martin, effective June 30.
Jorge Mosquera was approved to teach computer classes to parents of English Language Learner student for 1.5 hours per week for approximately 12 weeks. He will be paid $45.77 per hour, which will be funded by a grant.
Alicia Bailey has been appointed a 10-month senior clerk typist and assigned to Huntington High School, effective April 17.
Trustees approved the retirement requests of clerical workers Sherelyn Goodall (effective April 30) and Rita Carino (effective July 19) and food service worker Lenore Fusaro (effective May 1).
Michael Brinn, Andrea Gallo and Renee Neville-Conk were added to the district’s substitute teacher list. They will be paid $90 per diem. Vivian Alicea was added to the substitute teacher-aide roll.
