Blue Devil Boosters to Sponsor Boys’ Soccer Camp

The Huntington Booster Club is sponsoring a soccer camp for boys this summer on the fields at Huntington High School.  The session slated for July 21-25 is for boys entering grades 4-8 and a later session from August 18-22 is for those entering grades 9-12.  The camp will run from 9 a.m. to noon each day.  The registration fee is $115.

Blue Devil head coach John Pagano will serve as program director.  Huntington assistant varsity coach Jason Suarez will also be on the staff.  Participants will receive a free t-shirt.  In case of rain, the camp will move indoors to the high school gym.  There is a 10 percent sibling discount for families sending more than one camper.

All skill levels are welcome.  The camp will feature technical training and a small player to coach ratio.  There will be various competitions during the daily program, which will include ball skills, passing and dribbling, shooting, trapping, tournaments and games.

The second session is a new initiative.  “As a new season approaches, we are committed to raising the bar and continuing to strengthen our boys’ soccer programs at Huntington High School,” Pagano said.  “We are thrilled to offer a one-week preparatory camp to precede the 2008 season.  Our focus will be squarely on both tactical as well as technical training and will serve as an excellent opportunity for both new and current players to get an important head start to the season.”
