Huntington Men’s Chorus Presents $2,000 Scholarship

Zachary Grill sang a flawless and stirring rendition of God Bless America to formally open the annual senior academic awards night at Huntington High School and then walked away with a $2,000 scholarship, courtesy of the Huntington Men’s Chorus.
The scholarship is awarded annually to a senior who “has demonstrated an interest in, and an appreciation for, male choral music and who intends to continue his musical activities in college.”
“Zach sang in our spring concert and impressed the community with his talent, as you have just witnessed,” said Huntington Men’s Chorus member Bob Foster, who presented the award. Mr. Grill intends to continue his education at Temple University’s Ester Boyer School of Music in Philadelphia.
The Huntington Men’s Chorus has about 80 members and has entertained the community and surrounding areas for the past 59 years. The group performs two concerts a year in the Huntington High School auditorium, one in May and the other in December.
The HMC will also once again participate in the Huntington Arts Council’s summer festival with a concert on Thursday, June 26 at 8:30 p.m. on the Chapin Rainbow Stage in Heckscher Park. Admission is free.
