Huntington Intermediate Fourth Graders Make Scarves for Charity
Students in Huntington Intermediate School fourth grade teacher Scott Armyn’s class participated in an unusual project: The youngsters helped craft scarves that were later donated for use by needy community members.
The initiative helped make the recent holidays an even more meaningful experience for the students. The youngsters first purchased a variety of scarves before selecting their own designs to help make the items more attractive. Next, fabric paints were applied to introduce various colors.
The finished goods were then donated to the Family Service League, who made sure the products found their way to local residents who need the items to stay warm during the cold winter months.
