Budget Vote and School Board Election Timeline Announced


The timeline for this year’s budget vote and School Board election has been released by Huntington School District officials.  It establishes various dates and deadlines for voter registration days, absentee ballot applications, trustee candidate petitions, budget meetings and for the budget vote and election.

 

Adoption of the proposed budget, which will fund district operations from July 1 through June 30, 2009, is set for Monday, April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in the Huntington Intermediate School auditorium. 

 

Nominating petitions for School Board candidates are due in the district clerk’s office on Monday, April 21.  On Thursday, May 8, voter registration will be held.  That same date is also the deadline for absentee ballot applications to be submitted to the district clerk’s office if the voter wants the ballot mailed to their home.

 

The School Board will hold a budget hearing on Monday, May 12 at 7:30 p.m. in the Huntington Intermediate School auditorium.  The last voter registration day is set for Thursday, May 15.  On that same day a list of voters who have received absentee ballots will also be made available.  The last day to apply for an absentee ballot in the district clerk’s office is Monday, May 19 if the voter wants the ballot personally presented to them. 

 

The budget vote and trustee election will be held on Tuesday, May 20 in the Huntington High School lobby from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
