Gloria Wilson Leaving Huntington Security Guard Position


Longtime Huntington School District security guard Gloria Wilson is resigning her position effective Fri. Jan. 25 to take a similar post at Long Island University’s C.W. Post College campus.

 

A farewell party is planned in Ms. Wilson’s honor on Thurs. Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. at Pomodoro Restaurant in Huntington.  To secure a seat at the party, contact Huntington Intermediate School secretary Regina Zorn at 673-2060.  Tickets, priced at $45, include dinner, dessert and a gift.

 

Ms. Wilson graduated from Huntington High School in 1980.  She was a star Blue Devil athlete, known especially for her exceptional play on the basketball team.  She went on to earn an Associate’s degree at SUNY Farmingdale. 

 

Well-known throughout the district and community, Ms. Wilson is currently assigned to Huntington Intermediate School.  “Gloria is really going to be missed by all of us,” special education administrator Linda Costello-Roth. “She is an extremely dedicated employee.”
