Huntington Math A Regents Scores Called Excellent
The January Math A Regents was no match for Huntington High School students who notched a 97 percent passing rate on the difficult state exam. The results are being celebrated by faculty and students alike.
The math department and the 192 students who sat for the Regents exam had worked long hours preparing for the test, including special review sessions. The district has been pro-active in recent years, including identifying specific exam areas that could cause difficulty for individual students and then strengthening their skills in these areas.
“These results are a direct result of the hard work, dedication, commitment, and professionalism of our entire math department,” said Wayne Edwards, department director. The administrator called the results “excellent” and no one is disagreeing.
Mr. Edwards also expressed “special thanks” to classroom teachers Kathleen Aufiero, Joanne Feraz, Michael Graziano and Lynn Hendricks for their successful work with students.
