Mini-College Fair Draws Reps from Four Dozen Schools
Representatives from four dozen colleges and universities descended on Huntington High School for a recent mini-college fair, providing information and materials to several hundred eager students. The 90-minute long fair gave juniors in the school an opportunity to learn more about the programs and activities offered at a wide variety of institutions.
The schools included Alfred Univ., Arcadia Univ., Cazenovia College, Cedar Crest College, Clemens College, College of New Rochelle, College of St. Rose, Dowling College, Drew Univ., Five Towns College, Franklin Pierce Univ., Hartwick College, Iona College, Laboratory Institute of Merchandising, C.W. Post College, Longwood University, Lynchburg College, Manhattanville College, Molloy College, Mount Holyoke College, Mount Saint Mary College, Nassau Community College, Newbury College, New York Institute of Technology, and Old Dominion.
Representatives from Pace Univ., Rider Univ., Sacred Heart Univ., Southern New Hampshire Univ., St. Joseph’s College, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Suffolk Community College, SUNY Brockport, SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Canton, SUNY Cobleskill, SUNY College of Environmental Science/Forestry, SUNY Farmingdale, SUNY Morrisville, SUNY Old Westbury, SUNY Oneonta, SUNY Oswego, SUNY Purchase, SUNY Stony Brook, Utica College, Vaughn College of Aeronautics and Technology and Virginia Commonwealth Univ., were also in attendance.
The event was organized by Huntington college counselor Bernadette Walsh and held in the school cafeteria. College reps answered hundreds of questions, distributed applications, course descriptions, bulletins and other promotional materials and provided information about living and dining arrangements and what life is like on their respective campus.
