Respass Signs Letter of Intent to Play at C.W. Post
Huntington quarterback Quillian Respass has signed an NCAA letter of intent committing to C.W. Post College and accepting a full scholarship to play football for the Pioneers. He inked the document in the office of Huntington Athletic Director Georgia McCarthy while flanked by his father William Respass and Blue Devil head coach Steve Muller.
Respass turned in a fabulous season for the Blue Devils last fall displaying outstanding speed and athleticism and gaining the attention of many college programs. He wanted to stay close to home and had been considering Stony Brook, Hofstra and C.W. Post. When the latter made its offer, the senior took it.
“It’s a full scholarship covering tuition, books – everything,” Muller said. “I think it’s great and Quillian will do very well there. He’s very talented and they really wanted him. He will have a chance to be their quarterback.”
Respass earned All-County honors last fall and was also named a Police Athletic League All-Star. He proved to be a devastating open field runner with acrobatic moves and boasted a strong arm, too. “He’s excited to be going to Post,” Muller said. “They are excited to have him.”
