Lauren Thomas Hired to Teach Social Studies at the High School


Lauren Thomas has been hired to teach social studies at Huntington High School, filling in for teacher William Byrne who has been called up to active duty in the Armed Forces.  Ms. Thomas was appointed to teach through approximately May 9.

 

Ms. Thomas obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in politics at Fairfield University in 2004.  She went on to earn a Master’s degree in teaching in 2007 at Fairfield.

 

District officials reviewed 60 applications and interviewed eight candidates prior to recommending Ms. Thomas for appointment.

 

Ms. Thomas completed her student teaching requirements in Derby, Connecticut.  She worked as an academic assistant at Fairfield and also served as the assistant field hockey coach there.
