Huntington Welcomes Fans, Not Dogs or Smoking
Fans are always welcome at the games of Huntington’s sport teams. However, the athletic department is reminding fans that walking dogs and smoking on school grounds are both strictly prohibited.
The Board of Education prohibits the walking of dogs on school grounds for many reasons. “In addition to keeping our facilities in good condition, we don’t want any spectators to be placed in an unsafe situation, including being bitten or scratched by a dog,” Georgia D. McCarthy, district director of athletics said.
Smoking is banned by act of law on all school grounds. There is absolutely no smoking at games or events at any school. The community is welcome at all district functions and officials said they hope that fans will obey the law and refrain from smoking on school grounds.
