Huntington Parents Invited to Meet the Teacher Nights in All Schools

Parents of Huntington School District students are invited to attend Meet the Teacher Night in each of the district’s eight buildings beginning Wednesday, Sept. 19.  The evening programs provide parents with an opportunity to meet teachers and learn more about school policies, course curriculum, educational resources and teacher philosophy.

“Meet the Teacher Night is always an important evening for parents and the district,” Superintendent John J. Finello said.  “Teachers and administrators work very hard to provide informative and interesting programs.  Parents are given a clear view of how teachers go about educating children.”

At Jefferson and Southdown primary schools, Meet the Teacher Night will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 19 at 7 p.m.  Parents of Huntington High School students will meet teachers on Thursday, Sept. 20 at 7 p.m.  Parents of high school ESL students will meet on the same night thirty minutes earlier at 6:30 p.m.

Flower Hill and Washington primary school parents will meet teachers on Monday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.  At Woodhull and Huntington Intermediate parents of fourth graders can meet with teachers on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m.  Parents of fifth and sixth graders will meet at both schools on Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 p.m.  J. Taylor Finley Middle School parents are invited to meet teachers on Thursday, Sept. 27 at 7 p.m.

“All of us associated with the district are looking forward to meeting with parents on these nights,” Mr. Finello.  “We are confident that parents will be impressed with the excellent academic programs we have in place at each school.”
