Huntington School Board Notes
The bid to reconstruct the roof over the Huntington High School auditorium was awarded to More Contracting in the amount of $254,000.
School trustees are in the process of approving a revision to the district’s child abuse and neglect/maltreatment policy that provides regulations on mandatory reporting and procedures, obligations and related provisions. The revision incorporates changes in state law.
A bid was awarded to Northeast Music for the purchase of a vibraphone in the amount of $2,919. In all, four bidders responded. The high bid was submitted by Northeast Educational Music for $2,969.
Several hundred items ranging from books and workbooks to an ice cream freezer, refrigerator, computer equipment, overhead projectors and even a pottery kiln were declared broken, obsolete or beyond repair by school trustees. The items will be discarded. The books are no longer used with some dating back 15 years.
New York State has fixed May 20, 2008 as the date of statewide budget voting. The election of school trustees will occur at the same time.
Regularly scheduled meetings of the Huntington School Board are slated for Monday, November 19 and Monday, December 10. Both meetings will be held in the Huntington Intermediate School auditorium at 7:30 p.m.
