Flower Hill Provides Turkeys and Food Items to Needy Families
The Flower Hill Primary School community outdid itself during its annual Thanksgiving food drive, collecting 21 turkey certificates, one turkey and “tons” of non-perishable food items.
About two-dozen overflowing baskets were donated to the Helping Hand Rescue Mission for eventually distribution to families throughout Huntington, Huntington Station and Greenlawn, longtime Executive Director Rev. Rosemary Gaines said.
“The thoughtfulness and generosity demonstrated by students and faculty will help make Thanksgiving extra special for many families,” Flower Hill Principal Marlon Small said.
