Blue Devil Winter Coaches Approved by School Trustees


The Blue Devil winter season coaching staff is in place after Huntington School Board members approved recommendations presented by Superintendent John J. Finello.  Several dozen teams will be competing at J. Taylor Finley Middle School and Huntington High School with hundreds of athletes participating.

 

The coaches include Richard Agnello (Finley boys’ basketball), Kim Betz (varsity assistant girls’ basketball), Debra Cheskes (varsity girls’ winter track), Damianos Contopoulos (Finley boys’ volleyball), James Creighton (JV boys’ basketball), Mike Fabio (varsity assistant fencing), Lou Giani (varsity wrestling), Louis R. Giani (assistant Finley wrestling), Alan Kuver (varsity fencing), Phil Lowe (Finley boys’ basketball/Finley girls’ basketball), Tim Madden (varsity assistant boys’ basketball) and Mike Marinello (Finley wrestling).

 

The Blue Devil staff will also include Margaret McConnell (varsity assistant boys’ swimming), Eric Mininni (Finley girls’ volleyball), Kieran Mock (varsity assistant wrestling), Lynn Perzeszty (Finley boys’ swimming), Carrie Postel (Finley girls’ volleyball), Brad Reminick (varsity girls’ basketball), Rebecca Robey (varsity cheerleading), Jennifer Rodgers (JV girls’ basketball), Mike Schmitz (varsity boys’ basketball), Gilbert Smith (varsity boys’ swimming), Travis Smith (varsity assistant wrestling) and Ronald Wilson (varsity boys’ winter track).

 

Director of Athletics Georgia McCarthy is working to fill a handful of remaining openings.  Recommendations on candidates for those posts are expected to be presented to school trustees at their next meeting.
