Blue Devil Fencers Shine as Four Grab Medals
Four Blue Devil fencers earned medals at the tough Brentwood Holiday Tournament last weekend, providing rookie coach Mike Fabio something to build on the rest of the season.
In boys’ epee, junior Vernon O’Garra finished in third place and senior Kevin Thompson was sixth. Freshman Olivia Weller was third in girls’ epee and senior Kaari Casey placed fifth in girls’ foil.
The competition attracted 13 high schools and 300 fencers from Long Island and the Hudson Valley region.
