Blue Devil Girls’ Basketball Set for Tip-Off
The Huntington girls’ basketball season tips off Thursday night at home with a non-league game against rugged rival Kings Park at 6:15 p.m. Admission is free.
The two teams were fierce competitors last winter in Suffolk League V. Although the schools are now in different leagues, the game is expected to draw a large crowd to Louis D. Giani Gymnasium and serve as an interesting early season test.
Huntington returns a veteran, yet still young team, which last season won its first 21 games before being nipped by Harborfields for the county title, 49-48. Kings Park is a perennial Suffolk power, so fans should be in for a treat.
Blue Devil head coach Brad Reminick enters his fifth season at the program’s helm with a career mark of 43-35, including 34-8 the past two years.
