Huntington Searching for Director of Adult Education
The Huntington School District is searching for a director of adult and continuing education. The adult ed program dates to the 1950’s and has been utilized by thousands of residents over the years for educational and personal growth purposes. District officials have expressed a desire to see the program grow, offering even more courses and workshops to meet diversified needs.
William Kramer, who served for the past two years as district director of guidance and testing also headed the adult ed program until he resigned his position at the end of June to take a similar post in the Deer Park school district.
The director is responsible for administering and supervising the entire program, including course and budget development and monitoring, staffing, preparation and distribution of fall and spring semester brochures, registration and the collection of fees, evaluation of the program, instructional and clerical staff, communication with students, coordination of facility use with other administrators and the preparation and presentation of various reports.
Interested candidates must have a valid New York State certification as a school administrator and supervisor (SAS) or as a school district administrator (SDA) and have demonstrated leadership ability. The director is required to be present on evenings the program is in session.
