Huntington School Board members appointed a pair of new teachers, including one to a tenure-track position and the other to fill in for the first semester while a permanent faculty member is out of work on a child care related leave of absence.
Trustees appointed Cinzio Gilio to a dual language program classroom teaching post at Woohull Intermediate School. Her probationary period will run from September 1, 2007 to September 1, 2010 when, pending job performance reviews, she will be eligible for tenure. Sarah Metcalf was approved to work as a reading teacher at Southdown Primary School from September 1 through January 25, 2008. She will be covering classes for a teacher who is taking the first half of the school year off for child care reasons.
