Target, the national retailing giant, has donated $500 to defray expenses related to a field trip Washington Primary School first graders plan to make to the Atlantis Marine World Long Island Aquarium in Riverhead. Washington reading teacher Megan Himmelmann applied for the grant. Target donates five percent of its income, or more than $3 million, to the local communities it serves...full story>>

It’s an arts recognition and achievement initiative that focuses on an annual theme. The 2nd Annual Jana Lee Piccola Walk 4 Love is scheduled for Sunday, September 26, 2010. The event will kick-off at Mill Dam Park at 8:30 a.m. with a “kids run” for those 12 years old and younger. Huntington School Board members have accepted a donation from Gold Coast Physical Therapy, Inc., which had offered to custom paint a golf cart used by the athletic department. “They will work with a local auto body shop to paint the golf cart with the school colors and the Blue Devil logo,” said Georgia D.
