July 20, 2016

Young Leaders will honor Huntington High School Principal Brenden Cusack at the organization’s eighth annual awards dinner on Thursday, August 11 at Crestwood Manor on 25A in Northport.

Founded by Kevin Thorbourne, Ronald Wilson and Kevin Zaharios, Young Leaders is a community based youth development club that engages teenagers in worthwhile activities and encourages them to take pride in their town, in themselves and in each other.

Mr. Cusack will be joined by fellow honorees Andre Sorrentino of P.A.S. Auto Collision, Kim Gaines Gambino of Helping Hand Rescue Mission and Tri-CYA’s Debbie Rimler and Linda Leake.

Several special awards and scholarships will be presented at the dinner to members of the Class of 2016 who recently graduated and are preparing to head off to college.

The affair will run from 7-10 p.m. Tickets are on sale now for $75 for adults and $50 for young adults. Make check payable to Young Leaders and mail it to PO Box 93, Huntington Station, NY 11746. Send a message to for more information.

All proceeds from the dinner will be plowed back into the organization’s activities. Organizers are hoping for a sellout crowd. The evening is expected to attract dozens of recent graduates as well as parents and Huntington School District officials.
